Prof. Dr. Michael Kurschilgen

Michael Kurschilgen ist seit 2022 Assistenzprofessor an der FernUni Schweiz, nachdem er zuvor an der Technischen Universität München und am Max-Planck-Institut in Bonn tätig war. Er promovierte 2013 im Rahmen einer Max-Planck-Graduiertenschule in Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Universität Jena. Er hat Forschungsaufenthalte an der Stanford University, der UC Berkeley, der University of Michigan, dem EUI Florenz und der Universität von Bologna absolviert.

Seine Forschungsthemen liegen an der Schnittstelle zwischen Wirtschaft, Psychologie und Recht. In seiner Forschung kombiniert Prof. Dr. Kurschilgen verhaltensorientierte mikroökonomische Theorie mit Laborexperimenten, Feldexperimenten und anderen empirischen Ansätzen. Seine Arbeit zeigt, unter anderem, dass Eigentumsrechte sicherer sind, wenn Umverteilung obligatorisch (anstatt freiwillig) ist; und dass das menschliche Bedürfnis nach sozialer Anerkennung ein Hauptgrund dafür ist, warum die Bürger den Empfehlungen wissenschaftlicher Experten vertrauen können.

UniDistance Suisse renforce son engagement en faveur de la recherche reproductible UniDistance Suisse poursuit et renforce son engagement de longue date en faveur d’une recherche transparente et reproductible. Depuis mai 2026, Michael Kurschilgen, professeur d’économie comportementale et vice-doyen de la Faculté des sciences économiques, siège pour la première fois au comité de pilotage (Steering Committee) du Swiss Reproducibility Network (SwissRN). UniDistance Suisse est ainsi désormais représentée au sein de l’organe stratégique de direction de ce réseau national.

Neue Partnerschaft mit Universität Valencia stärkt Doktorierendenausbildung Die FernUni Schweiz hat im Mai 2026 ein Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) mit dem LINEEX Lab der Universität Valencia (Spanien) unterzeichnet. Die neue Partnerschaft eröffnet den Doktorierenden der Fakultät für Wirtschaftswissenschaften Zugang zu einer der modernsten Forschungsinfrastrukturen für experimentelle Wirtschaftsforschung in Europa.

UniDistance Suisse s’engage pour des pratiques de recherche exemplaires En collaboration avec l’Université de Zurich et la HES-SO, UniDistance Suisse lance le projet «Open Online Course in Good Research Practices»: un programme innovant destiné à promouvoir les bonnes pratiques scientifiques auprès des doctorants et postdocs. À la tête de cette initiative ambitieuse se trouve le Prof. Dr. Matthias Voigt, professeur assistant en mathématiques avec tenure track à UniDistance Suisse.

La Diligentia Foundation soutient un projet de recherche d’UniDistance Suisse sur les obstacles administratifs dans le système fiscal Dr Krishna Srinivasan, le Prof. Manuel Grieder et le Prof. Michael Kurschilgen, de la Faculté des sciences économiques d’UniDistance Suisse, ont obtenu un soutien financier de la Diligentia Stiftung pour leur nouveau projet de recherche intitulé «Understanding Administrative Burden: A Field Experiment on the Hassle Costs of Tax Filing in Germany». Les travaux débutent ce mois-ci et se poursuivent jusqu’en octobre 2027.
