On Euler systems and Nekovář--Selmer complexes
Euler systems have led to spectacular progress on conjectures concerning the special values of motivic L-series. In recent joint work with David Burns we further develop the axiomatic theory of Euler systems by allowing more general coefficient rings and by systematically incorporating Nekovář--Selmer complexes into the framework. I will give an overview of our results, including some concrete arithmetic applications that this refined theory has.
